What is “Chisako Takashima 12 Violinists”?
Chisako Takashima’s performance with the Berlin Philharmonic Violin Ensemble gave her an idea of producing “Chisako Takashima 12 Violinists”, a violin ensemble group which is “beautiful and enjoyable, both by sight and aural.” The group was formed in June 2006 with 14 violinists who were chosen from over 100 public entries. After giving performances at numerous concerts and events, their first CD “Chisako Takashima 12 Violinists” (Columbia Music Entertainment) was released in November 2006. Their repertoires include not only music originally written for violin but also the master pieces specially arranged for 12 violins. Majoring in classical music, they are also enthusiastic in performing music from a variety of genres such as Tango and Broadway music. Currently, while focusing on their performances at various major classical concerts such as Outreach Concerts and LA FOLLE JOURNÉE au JAPON, their frequent appearances on TV shows and radio shows as well as their performance and performance teaching for the popular TV drama “Nodame Cantabile” have gained a massive attention. In May 2008, their second CD “Chisako Takashima 12 Violinists ~Violin Fantasy~” (Columbia Music Entertainment) was released, and in September the CD “Rensoukyoku” (Universal J) collaborated with the singer, Manami Kurose was also released.
